Ketchikan, AK- SUNNY MONDAYS=HAPPY LOCALS!

Monday Morning, I wake up in Ketchikan Alaska. Surprisingly, the Sun is shining. I say surprisingly because I have been to Alaska almost every summer since 2011, and the number of sunny days vs rainy days are out of the ball park. That being said I wake up feeling refreshed and with a huge smile as the sun shines down on me. Some have asked me about local experiences. Having the opportunity to spend all that time in Alaska I have encountered lots of Alaskan people. They are friendly but imagine the cold and rain as much as they have, so from time to time you feel that energy. But when they greet me on a MONDAY SUNNY morning, I truly feel them shinning with a different uplifting energy! On this adventure day we decided to just walk around the tiny town, of Ketchikan. So we are off to get a coffee (@ Sweet Mermaids Cafe, The vanilla Chia, top notch,) some popcorn, and a quick wander through Creek Street as we don't have much time, we will have to get back to installing our show in the Theater. But as we wander we encounter some friendly Locals. Rhonda, serving us a 7$ bag of popcorn (way smaller then the bag you get at the movie theater.) She of course greets us with a smile, she's getting business plus the sun is shining, she actually shared this thought with us. “Its a beautiful Monday, and we are grateful to have the sun shinning.” She seems extra chipper, as for us not as much with our 7$ popcorn transaction. Moving on in our quick pass through town, if you get to visit this little town, I suggest to get out in nature and enjoy whale watching/wild life/the scenery, because the shopping is all the same shop after shop. Actually Jewelry shop after jewelry shop, nick nack, paddy wack, yup skip the shopping, unless of course you love jewels or looking for something Alaskan (ie an a wood carved eagle head, Wooden totem pole, or your token alaskan mug.) In my opinion, Alaska is not meant for shopping its meant for connecting with nature! If to just wander through a beautiful park or up a mountain to discover a lake or encounter a bear, just take a deep breath and become one with the beauty mother Nature has to offer. And if you don’t make it to Alaska, Id like to suggest to get out of your house and go get in touch with nature and your spiritual side, trust me, you will feel rejuvenated and whole! Go out and Greet your nearest mother nature! HAPPY MONDAY THOUGHTS!
