Barcelona Adventure day two includes visiting the Guell Pack, two of the famous Gaudi houses, and the boqueria market. Guell Park is a public park composed of gardens and architectonic elements located on Carmel Hill, in Barcelona, Spain. With urbanization in mind Eusebio Guell, a Spanish entrepreneur, assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudi, a renowned architect and the face of Catalan Modernism, his works have a highly individualized, and one-of-a-kind style. This park was built in 1900 and opened to the public in 1926. It is a unique and enchanting spot to enjoy your day strolling through the park, but an extremely popular touristic site. Access is limited to a certain amount of people every half-hour so it is wise to book tickets ahead online. It is truly worth seeing the beauty this park has to offer. My next stop around town was to two of Gaudi’s well known buildings, Im hopefully to be able to see all 10 that are listed on the must see list, during this tour. The first was Casa Mila (La Pedera.) This one was inspired by the modernist movement, Spain’s version of Art Nouveau, and is known for its surrealist sculptural roof. The second is one of my favorites, Casa Batllo. This specific house caught my eye before I even did the research of Gaudi’s designs. It really spoke to me as it reveals one of his most poetic and artistic designs for a building. It is known to be his masterpiece and it will certainly forever astonish its observers. My last stop of todays adventure I wandered around the Boqueria Market. This is one of Europe’s largest/famous food markets and one of the city’s foremost tourist landmarks, with an entrance from La Rambla. This market has a diverse selection of goods! I stopped to try some of the fresh juice along with some local meats and cheese. It is definitely a bit chaotic to walk through, with lots of people, while trying to make a purchase, but an experience worth doing for sure. I hope you enjoy my video of these sites I explored today, until the next adventure in Barcelona!
